“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so”. – Douglas Adams
Before and After. The original Danish Embassy had two sculptures by Paul Eschert in between the pillars- a male figure seen here in 1940, and a female. The Danes were not too fond of them, but were not permitted to remove them by the Nazis. They were badly damaged in the bombings of 1943 though, so that they were removed in 1947 and melted down to be reused. Who knows what they have morphed into now!
